ROSEBANK RESIDENCE
Built in 1907, this Mill Valley residence was not designed for longevity. Without a reinforced foundation, the home was built more like a turn-of-the-century barn rather than a family residence. Given the quaint and historic nature of the neighborhood, the client and design team wanted to keep as much of the structure of the original home intact as possible. Our team separated the structure from the deficient foundation and hydraulically lifted the house 6 feet from the ground. The home was then placed on cribbing which allowed us to replace the entire foundation and reframe the under-floor system. Once the necessary updates to the foundation were completed, LBI performed a complete gut remodel of the whole home, including additional touches for gracefully aging in place including an elevator, dry sauna, radiant heat, hydronic and photo voltaic solar systems.
