THE OBSERVATORY

(2024 SHOWCASE)

Larkspur Builders collaborated with esteemed interior designer Jon de la Cruz on 'The Observatory' at the 2024 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. This multifaceted space, designed to flex as a family gathering area, seamlessly transforms from a media and game room to a breakfast nook and a cozy evening retreat for aperitifs. The room features moody stained oak paneling that mirrors the twilight hues of the horizon, complemented by lush floral sofas that echo the surrounding verdant landscape and panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. The room includes playful elements like game tables, a custom Da Vinci Marble chess board, and indoor plants by Boxleaf Design, all set against a hand-tufted carpet designed to mimic a grassy lawn. Warm oak floors by Hakwood add to the room’s luxurious feel. This year's design emphasizes vibrant patterns, colors, and graphic elements, inviting all who enter to experience a blend of sophistication and whimsical charm.
